Areas of Practice

Offshore & Maritime Personal Injury

David McNeal has put steel-toe boots on deck sailing around the world on U.S. Flag vessels, as a mate licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard on New York City Department of Transportation ferry boats, and has both Offshore Supply Vessel (OSV) and Ultra Deepwater drilling rig work experience in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.  While working offshore, David was one of the shipboard officers responsible for inspecting and maintaining certain safety aspects of the vessel as mandated by numerous regulatory agencies.   That very real experience allows him to have an intricate understanding of the very real dangers that exist within the offshore work environment and how they can occur.

Personal Injury

We are sorrowful for you, your loved one, or any individual who has suffered an injury – no matter how serious.  Legally, that injury may have occurred due to the negligence of someone else.  Even if you were partially the cause for the accident, Texas law may still allow the injured party to recover damages such as reimbursement for certain tangible costs such as medical expenses, property damage, days missed from work, and possibly others.  Depending on the circumstances of the case, other intangible costs may be included as well.

When a person dies without a will, that person is said to have died “intestate”.  If you do not have a will, your property will pass pursuant to Texas’ intestacy provisions.  Depending on the type of asset, it may be excluded from the intestacy laws and pass to your survivors or named beneficiaries even in the absence of a will.  Otherwise, the state will determine who will receive which portions of your property, taking a number of factors into account, e.g., marriage status, how many children you have, and your closest living relatives...
